Happy birthday! You too!

Its my birthday and I haven’t written any blogs in a week.  I’m so exhausted (and lazy) I just haven’t done much over the last week, so there wasn’t much to write about.

I shoveled about 8 inches of snow this morning (slush included) and then it got above freezing and mostly melted away.  WTF.  Way to waste energy on my birthday.  I’ve been watching this sheet of snow on a porch roof across the street slowly melt and slide down the roof.  Its going to fall off the roof any second.  I pray that someone is walking underneath it as it happens.  This is the only birthday present I REALLY want right now.  Oooh wait.  I just took a picture.

Come on!  fall…Fall….FALL!!

Ok, I really need to get changed because we are going to the Bear Creek Inne for dinner and I look like a slob.

PS – My dog is snoring.

Yappy Holidaze: Christmas Wishes

Good morning!  Hope you all have a safe and happy Christmas Day.

  • May you get everything that you put on your list for Santa.
  • May your kids have not woken you up at the crack of the dawn.
  • May you not OD from watching Christmas Story for the 20th time.
  • May you pig out on Holiday Feasts and not gain a pound.
  • May you not need to take Advil to deal with your family.
  • May you not have to return any presents to stores tomorrow.

Be safe kids.  No drinkin’ and drivin’.

PS – I added a new link under “stalk” for my youtube videos.  Be sure to check them out, because I worked hard on uploading them.  Ok, no I didn’t, but my macintosh did.

PPS – I will be adding new pics to the gallery v. soon.

Merry Xmas Eve-Eve!

[I was trying to embed a youtube video into this post for about 25 minutes now. It puts the video in the post, but screws up all of my table formats, so forget that. I'm done messing around with it. I'm just posting the link to youtube, too bad if you don't like it. I am annoyed.]

Gabby wants to sing her ABC’s for you (only after she gets more candy, though).

Its a festivus for the rest of us!

Merry Festivus to one and All.

“Welcome new comers. The tradition of Festivus begins with the airing of the grievances. I got a lot of problems with you people! And now you’re gonna hear about it!”

FYI – Possible NEPA Scammer – BEWARE!

Posted to Myspace.com Bulletins, WNEP.com & PAhomepage.com

I am not sure if this is a truly legit charity organization or not, but I DID NOT give them any of my information. I have been receiving calls from a 570-970-4584 number over the last month. Everytime I pick up the phone they either hang up or there is dead air. Upon calling the number back (and I’ve tried to block my number using *67 as well) I get a fast busy signal. Anyway, today finally I heard a voice on the other end, so I kept saying hello over and over until someone answered me back. This man stated he was from the Police Protective Fund and I yelled at him to stop calling my house and he said he would take my name off of the list. It is important to note that I am on the Do Not Call List, so my question is how did this “charity organization” get my number???? Like I said above, I am not sure if its legit or a scam, but I reported them to my local police department as it seemed fishy to me. (If it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck….it must be a….) I just wanted to alert anyone who may read this blog. I don’t want to see any one get scammed out of money so close to Christmas time. Also, please let any elderly friends or family aware of these type of phone scams as well…there are many elderly folks in Northeast PA that have big hearts (sometimes bigger than their brains) and they are way too willing to open their checkbooks to these thieves.

Take care and be safe.

Happy Holidays

Xmas Cards I received today

(Now with picture goodness)

-DB Echo. I suspect the card you sent is homemade with your photography on the front, its really neat. The only homemade card I received, so you get +1 gold star.

-CJ Beers. Nice recycled card, dumbass. Apparently Mr. Beers took the card his father sent him, whited out the names and wrote in mine. I really think he is just messing with me, but who knows…this is Beers we are talking about. -1 gold star for you.

-C. Watkins, my cousin. Great redneck card! Made me laugh out loud. +2 Gold Stars

-Uncle John & Aunt Marie, standard issue Xmas Card.

I have a wall of Xmas cards going, once I add these ones in I’ll get a picture. Gabby likes to practice counting them all when we sit at the dinner table.

26, FTW.  Note the totally awesome 1970’s woodgrain panelling in my kitchen.

Did you ever feel like you were spinning your tires?

Just ask the people on my street about that one.  (Now with picture goodness)

Since the snow last Thursday and the Sleet on Sat/Sunday our parking spots have turned into a complete skating rink. The road was covered with heavy slush and the top layer was frozen, but it has since frozen into a complete ice block.

I watched a Ford Excursion across the street try to get out of a parking spot on Monday night for 25 minutes. I would think that a Ford Excursion would have 4wd, but apparently not. It took 25 minutes of backing up and pulling forward to break himself free of the parking spot.

Yesterday, a Ford f150 was parked in my neighbors spot and when he tried to pull out his tires were spinning really bad. My neighbor was obviously out at the time, which is why his spot was taken. He just happened to come home at the right time…and ended up helping the guy get his truck loose. My neighbor steered this guy’s truck while the guy pushed it. They got it out, but that was like a 30 minute ordeal.

Now, I’m watching my neighbors across the street spinning their tires. In this case, its a big dodge ram 1ton truck. He’s not going anywhere.

Maybe its a ford thing, or a big truck thing, but I haven’t had any problems getting out of my sheet of ice parking spot to date and I have a dinky little Jeep Liberty. Knock on wood. I really hope this shit melts soon, I’m getting nervous about these people parking near my vehicle when they can’t make it out of the parking spots. I would attempt to go out and dig out a spot, but the ice is about 3 inches thick. You can’t move it.

I think half of these problems come from the fact that we live across the street from a school and all of the asshole parents and teachers come and steal our parking spots when school is in session. Its bad enough to try to find a parking spot on a normal day, but when there is some major snowfall, its impossible. You are reduced to putting some sort of lawn furniture in your spot so no one snakes it. Btw, putting furniture and things of that nature to “save a spot” is illegal in Hanover Township, so if a cop sees you doing that, be prepared to have your ass chewed out. Our parking is considered public, so anyone can steal your spot and its not illegal. One thing is for sure, its not fair. How would you feel spending 2 hours digging yourself out only to have some jackass come and park there when you are gone? Exactly.

Blah. At least I managed to get some qik joe at the supermarket earlier. I bought a 10 lb bag. Hopefully that will last until at least next week (at the rate we are going with winter storms around here). I used it on the ice covered stairs that I was chopping at for the last three days with my shovel (and pulling muscles in the process) and now they are completely ice-free.

Victory over ice, I has it.

(Here she is on the ice, that grey truck in the back was the one that was spinning its tires this morning)

The Opposite Game

Gabby is exhausting to be around these days.  She does this new thing where she will say one thing, and then completely do a 360 and say the opposite thing.  I can’t really think of any better way of describing it, so I’m going to give a few examples:

Sample Dinnertime 360:

  • Me:  Are you done with dinner?
  • G:  Yes
  • Me:  Ok, I’m going to take your plate.
  • G:  NO!  I still eating!!!

Sample Bedtime 360:

  • Me:  Ok, lay down now, good night.  Do you want a kiss?
  • G:  YES!
  • Me:  *goes to kiss her forehead*
  • G:  I DONT WANT A KISS!!!!!!!!!
  • Me:  Ok, then I’m going, goodnight.  *closing door*
  • G:  WAITTTT!   I WANT A KISS!

Sample Changing 360:

  • G:  CHANGE ME!  CHANGE ME!  CHANGE ME!!!
  • Me:  Ok, go get a diaper.
  • G:  I dry!
  • Me:  GRRRRR. sdfkjsdlfkjsdlfkjs;dflkjsd;flkjsdflkjse8r93487234987234

WTF!!!  I really hope this is just some phase that she is going through because I can’t take it anymore.  She’s 3 going on 16.
