This week I had fun playing with Windows Movie Maker.

For the 2nd time in 6 months, I have a new job. Let’s hope it lasts longer than the last loser company. I know, I really shouldn’t put down the last company that I worked for, but I just can’t help it. Being hired for 2 months only to be laid off after your position was eliminated because the company can no longer afford to pay you….just…plain….sucks. I’ll cut the negativity at that last comment. I will leave the past in the past and move forward.
I don’t know what my new position is exactly called. I don’t know if you can put "Jack of All Trades" on a resume. Anyway, I start July 7th. Which is just in the knick of time because I file my last unemployment claim on Sunday. I already have arranged for the daycare to resume full time care for the kiddos that week. All systems are go.
My head is spinning from all of this excitement so I’m not really sure what to say about all of this yet. I’m just trying to take it all in. Plus there’s about 90% humidity in the air today so I feel like a hot sweaty ghetto mess right now. It is oppressive outside right now. I can’t even breathe without working up a sweat.
Anyone else find it disturbing that Kids Bop is doing a cover of "Take You There" by Sean Kingston (clicky for lyrics)? Ooh Ooh, Me! I think the part when the kids sing about going to the slums is so cute. Who actually buys these mind numbing trash CDs? Like my kids already dominate what we watch on TV, what we eat, where we go, what we do, etc. I don’t need them dominating my speakers as well.
Who knows, maybe they don’t actually sing the slum part, but I still don’t think its appropriate.
If I were elected President, Kids Bop CDs would be the first thing abolished from the planet.
This is my very first
Boobtube Youtube Weekend post. I’m not a sell out, really I’m not.
The kids on the new trampoline:
In other news, Owen has developed a mystery rash all over his body and I will need to call the doctor about it tomorrow. Oh and I have a horrible sunburn all over my back and nose from doing yard work yesterday. Duh, yes I did use sunblock, but it was the spray kind and apparently I missed a big portion of my back when I sprayed it on myself. Next time I’ll have someone else spray my back for me.
Since about 9am the power has been out here. UGI had no idea it was out and wants to know if our neighbors are having the same problem. Um, hmmm, you see I’d ask them if any of them were actually HOME right now. Around 11am they said they’d roll a truck to investigate the power issues. I have yet to see this truck they speak of.
I’m posting this from Rich’s laptop (battery power) and a wireless modem.
Everytime I think of something to do, I realize that I need power to do it. Hmmm…I should vacuum, oh wait can’t do that. I could wash some dishes up. Oh wait, can’t do that because the well pump runs off electricity. I should microwave or make something for lunch, can’t do that because the stove is electric and so is the microwave. Right now, we can’t even flush toilets.
Its a cool day, so no fans are needed, thank god. I hope the food in the fridge/freezer and deep freezer can keep until we get back online here. If it were winter right now, we’d be so screwed because all of our heating is electric baseboard.
"We don’t have an ETA"
Yeah, well thanks for nothing.
