I am back from the appointment and now I am getting ready to go to work. Everything seems to be fine with the baby. I waited a long time again in the waiting room. My appointment was for 8:45am, but I didn't actually get in the doctors office until at least 9:30. The doctor let me listen to the heartbeat again, but as she was listening to it, the baby moved! She had to move around to find where the baby had moved to. Then after the appointment was over I had to go to get bloodwork done for the AFP screen (joy of all joys). I hate getting bloodwork done! Luckily the hospital is right next door to the doctors so I walked right over and got my bloodwork then left there. Since the lab is inside the hospital you have to go to admissions first before you can go to lab. As I was sitting waiting to be admitted the baby was kicking the crap out of me. I didn't get out of there until about 10:30, and luckily I didn't faint or pass out. I won't get my results back from the test for about a week. I believe the AFP is to test for Downs Syndrome and Birth Defects. The only downside is there is a high false positive result. Well I have to run now and go change.
